Some people however, view the formal gathering of business requirements as an overrated process that takes much time and effort from the project. Unfortunately, not enough has been done to explain the great importance of the requirements gathering process and even less effort was exerted in explaining the underlying need to develop requirements gathering methods to improve the process. For this reason, the information technology industry usually ends up blaming the customers for not being clear enough in stating their business requirements. A good business analyst must be able to effectively bridge the gap between the IT designers and business users so that accurate and clear business requirements are understood by both parties.
